October 18 – The opening ceremony for the Sino-Korean higher education program in Infant and Child Care Service and Management, jointly launched by our university and Korea's Kyungdong University, was successfully held at the university's Learning Center.
The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests from Kyungdong University, including President Seong-Yong Jeon, Director Ahn Chang-Young of the International Development Office, and Vice Director Jo Seong-Wook of the Innovation Strategy Office. Representing our university were Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President Wang Faming, along with other attendees. Vice President Yu Yingxiang presided over the ceremony. Also present were heads of the School of Culture and Tourism and the School of International Education (International Exchange Office), faculty representatives from the School of Culture and Tourism, and all freshmen of the program's inaugural cohort.
In his address, President Wang Faming extended a warm welcome to the Korean guests. He emphasized that this collaboration is a significant initiative leveraging complementary strengths, sharing resources, and achieving mutual development. He described it as a vivid practice of the university's commitment to internationalized education and cultivating inter-disciplinary talents, which is sure to inject new vitality into talent cultivation in the infant and child care field through international cooperation.
President Seong-Yong Jeon, in his speech, introduced Kyungdong University's distinctive features and achievements in vocational education. He stated that this partnership extends far beyond ordinary inter-university cooperation, calling it a model of a new type of educational partnership jointly built by the two universities and two countries for the future.
On behalf of all the teaching staff, faculty representative Li Tingting expressed a firm commitment to dedicated teaching and nurturing students. She advised the freshmen to cherish this international learning opportunity and strive to become caring, professionally outstanding, and well-qualified childcare professionals.
Speaking on behalf of the inaugural cohort, student representative Kong Yaqi pledged to engage in her studies with full enthusiasm. She vowed to live up to the joint cultivation from both universities, aspiring to become a childcare talent with international vision and the ability to undertake significant responsibilities, thereby bringing honor to her alma mater.
Finally, the attending leaders and guests jointly announced the official commencement of the higher education program in Infant and Child Care Service and Management.
The successful launch of this program not only provides students with access to internationally advanced concepts in childcare education but also offers a broad platform for the university to deepen international exchange and cooperation, enhancing its educational quality and internationalization level. Moving forward, the university will continue to promote the integration of childcare education resources and mutual learning of experiences between the two countries, taking more solid steps in the field of international cooperative education and jointly opening a new chapter in cultivating high-quality professionals in infant and child care.
