From September 4 to 9, the 2025 World Vocational College Skills Competition Finals in the artificial intelligence track (higher vocational group) was held at the Zhongguancun National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone Exhibition Center in Beijing. The team composed of Chen Guanyi, Yan Youkun, Wang Shuo, and Tao Youzhi from the School of Information Engineering competed against 128 teams from 30 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across China. With their innovative project design, solid professional knowledge, and proficient technical skills, they secured the silver award.

The 2025 World Vocational College Skills Competition introduced the artificial intelligence track for the first time, aiming to vigorously promote the cultivation of technical and skilled talents in artificial intelligence technology and related fields, comprehensively enhance the overall capabilities of students in related disciplines, and explore the "new domains and dimensions" of education empowered and enhanced by AI.

During the preparation period, with strong support from the university and school leadership, the team leveraged the synergistic advantages of "instructors + industry experts + internal experts." They closely focused on industry standards and job requirements in the artificial intelligence field, systematically studied the competition rules and scoring criteria, actively conducted field research in enterprises, deeply understood industry trends, extensively reviewed relevant literature, and ultimately designed the "Intelligent Food Safety Inspection" project proposal by integrating the university’s educational characteristics. Instructors Xin Dandan and Li Xuemei provided precise guidance throughout the process, identifying issues in a timely manner and continuously optimizing improvements. The participating students proactively tackled technical challenges, utilized summer vacation time to intensify practical training, and continuously strengthened the standardization and proficiency of their operations to ensure precision in every step.

After the competition, the students unanimously expressed that participating in this event not only significantly enhanced their professional abilities but also deepened their understanding of the importance of teamwork. They pledged to hold themselves to higher standards and pursue continuous improvement in the future.

This competition fully demonstrates the effectiveness of our university’s professional development and talent cultivation efforts. It represents another important achievement in the university’s ongoing efforts to deepen educational and teaching reforms and promote collaborative education models. The School of Information Engineering will seize this opportunity to comprehensively summarize the experience gained from the competition, continuously optimize the professional talent cultivation plan, further strengthen industry-academia collaboration and integration, enhance students’ practical abilities, and contribute to cultivating more high-quality technical and skilled talents while supporting regional economic and social development.
