    Our University Wins Gold Medal in Art Design Track of 2025 World Vocational College Skills Championship Finals

    On August 31, the 2025 World Vocational College Skills Championship Finals for the Art Design Track concluded successfully. Focusing on the theme of "Innovative Design Empowering Industrial Practice," the competition brought together 204 top teams from various provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions to compete at Guizhou E-Commerce Vocational and Technical College. The team from our university, composed of advertising art and design majors Lü Xinyi, Gao Yingying, Li Caizheng, and He Siyuan, stood out among numerous participants with their profound understanding and precise interpretation of the competition theme. Demonstrating exceptional strength in creativity, technical application, and industrial adaptability, they ultimately secured the gold medal in this track, adding another outstanding achievement to our university’s record in high-level vocational education competitions.  

    To accurately align with the core theme of "Innovative Design Empowering Industrial Practice," the advertising art and design program established a preparation team led by a program leader, ensuring high standards throughout the preparation process. The team guided the participants to immerse themselves in the frontline practices of industries such as advertising design and brand planning, conducting research on the actual needs and pain points of enterprises in brand promotion and visual communication. Real industrial project scenarios were integrated into the creation of their works. During the preparation period, the team of teachers and students continuously optimized the design plan in response to competition rules, refined every detail of their work through repeated polishing, and enhanced their on-site performance via high-intensity simulated drills. Additionally, contingency plans were developed to address potential issues during the design implementation process, ensuring that the works were not only innovative and creative but also met the practical needs of industrial applications. This fully reflected the university’s educational feature of integrating industry and education.  

    Winning the gold medal is not only an affirmation of the teaching achievements of the advertising art and design program in the College of Art and Design and the professional capabilities of the students but also a vivid demonstration of the university’s commitment to the educational philosophy of "promoting teaching, learning, and development through competitions." In the future, the College of Art and Design will use this achievement as an opportunity to further deepen the development of the advertising art and design program. Aligning with the trend of "integration of design and industry" highlighted by the competition theme, the college will optimize the integrated educational model of "post, course, competition, and certification," strengthen cooperation with leading enterprises in the industry, and introduce more cutting-edge design technologies and real industrial projects into the classroom. This will enhance students’ innovative design capabilities and job adaptability. Simultaneously, the college will leverage the example and leading role of the competition results to encourage more programs to use competitions as a bridge to connect with industrial needs, cultivating more high-quality technical and skilled talents who "understand design, excel in innovation, and are capable of practice" for the high-quality development of vocational education and regional economic and social progress.
