Recently,the provincial finals(Higher Vocational Education Group)of the 2025"FLTRP·ETIC Cup""Understanding Contemporary China"National Foreign Language Proficiency Speech Contest for College Students were held in Weifang,Shandong Province.The competition attracted 145 contestants from 79 higher vocational institutions across the province,with 87 contestants advancing to the finals after preliminary selections.Bringing together outstanding participants from various institutions,the contest was exceptionally competitive.Zhang Yana,a student majoring in Applied English from the College of Culture and Tourism at our university,stood out among the many competitors and ultimately secured the gold medal.
The competition aims to enhance young students'understanding and recognition of contemporary China's social development achievements and improve their cross-cultural communication skills through prepared speeches,impromptu speeches,and on-site Q&A sessions.As a high-level foreign language contest,the"FLTRP·ETIC Cup"enjoys a strong reputation nationwide and is one of the important platforms for testing college students'foreign language proficiency.
