Recently, our school has been successfully elected as the Deputy Director Unit of the Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Professional Committee under the Belt and Road and BRICS Skills Development International Alliance. Gao Xiaoyan, Dean of the School of Information Engineering, has been elected as a council member of the committee. This achievement marks a significant breakthrough for our school in the professional development and international collaboration in the fields of big data and artificial intelligence.

The Belt and Road and BRICS Skills Development International Alliance was established in 2017 with the approval of the BRICS Summit Preparatory Committee and is registered with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China. Its goal is to establish talent selection channels for BRICS countries, enhance talent cultivation capabilities, serve the advanced manufacturing sector, and promote skills development. The newly established Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Professional Committee aims to provide a platform for experts in the field to discuss, research, and address key issues and challenges. Through regular academic conferences, seminars, and forums, the committee will share the latest research achievements, experiences, and technological advancements, fostering deep collaboration and exchange between academia and industry.
For a long time, our school has placed great emphasis on the development of professional disciplines, continuously optimizing the curriculum system, strengthening the faculty team, and actively promoting practical teaching reforms. These efforts have yielded fruitful results in the construction of big data and artificial intelligence programs. In the 2024 Belt and Road and BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition, our school won third prizes in both the Artificial Intelligence Algorithm Design and Application category and the Data Analysis and Visualization category at the national finals for higher vocational institutions, demonstrating strong professional capabilities and high-quality talent cultivation.
This election as a Deputy Director Unit is a high recognition of our school's achievements in the fields of big data and artificial intelligence, as well as its international collaboration. In the future, our school will seize this opportunity to fully leverage its advantages and actively integrate resources in education, skills, information, and standards from countries along the Belt and Road and BRICS nations. On one hand, our school will assist the alliance in promoting international exchanges in big data and artificial intelligence, organizing academic conferences, vocational skills competitions, and other activities to enhance the school's influence in the field of international vocational education. On the other hand, by utilizing the alliance's platform, our school will further optimize its program offerings, update teaching content, and innovate talent cultivation models, striving to cultivate more high-quality technical and skilled talents with international perspectives. This will contribute to the development of the big data and artificial intelligence industries and make a positive impact on society.
