Recently, the 17th Shandong Provincial College Student Science and Technology Festival—Shandong Provincial College Student Advanced Mapping Technology and Product Information Modeling Innovation Competition and the 18th National College Student Advanced Mapping Technology and Product Information Modeling Innovation Competition (Shandong Division Preliminary Round) were held in Yantai. Ten students from the School of Intelligent Manufacturing at our university participated in the competition, winning a total of 3 first prizes, 6 second prizes, and 2 third prizes. Additionally, they secured a second prize in the "Mechanical Product Configuration and Representation" team event and a third prize in the "Mechanical Mapping Technology" team event.
The "17th Shandong Provincial College Student Science and Technology Festival" was jointly organized by the Shandong Association for Science and Technology, the Provincial Department of Education, the Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, and the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security. A total of 148 teams from 75 universities across the province, comprising 3,195 participants, gathered at Yantai Vocational College of Cultural Tourism to compete. Additionally, 1,295 teams participated in the finals of specialized events. The "2025 Shandong Provincial College Student Advanced Mapping Technology and Product Information Modeling Innovation Competition" was one of the events under the "17th Shandong Provincial College Student Science and Technology Festival," setting new records in both scale and prestige.
The School of Intelligent Manufacturing attached great importance to the competition preparations, formulating a comprehensive training plan. Leveraging the college's "Public Training Base for Intelligent Equipment Applications in Deep Grain Processing" and the "Digital Intelligence Design Center," a three-tier training system of "3D modeling—virtual simulation—practical verification" was established, providing students with a full-process innovation and practice platform. The "Three-Phase, Five-Dimensional" training model was implemented: the foundational phase focused on standardizing software operations, the advanced phase incorporated real-world enterprise projects, and the final phase involved full-scale simulation exercises to ensure seamless alignment between training content and professional requirements.
Moving forward, the School of Intelligent Manufacturing will adhere to the philosophy of "promoting teaching, training, learning, and reform through competitions." The college will continue to explore innovative teaching methods for drafting courses, enhance students' craftsmanship spirit and innovative awareness, and comprehensively improve their engineering graphics practice and digital design capabilities for complex mechanical components. This will further hone students' professional skills and engineering practice abilities, elevate the quality of education and teaching, and inject new vitality into the high-quality development of the university.
