On April 17th, the opening ceremony of the 16th 525 Mental Health Festival and the inaugural "Peer Love·Guarding the Future" Psychological Counseling Skills Competition were held at the university's Party Spirit Education Base. Faculty from the Mental Health Education Center for College Students, psychological counselors from various schools, student representatives, and participating teams attended the event.

As the kickoff activity of this year's Mental Health Festival, the first "Peer Love·Guarding the Future" Psychological Counseling Skills Competition attracted active participation from schools across the university. The competition consisted of two main segments: "Psychological Knowledge Quiz" and "Peer Psychological Counseling Simulation," comprehensively assessing the teams' knowledge of mental health and their practical skills in peer counseling.

In the knowledge quiz segment, teams from different schools engaged in a fierce competition covering fundamental mental health knowledge and key points of crisis intervention, demonstrating solid theoretical expertise. In the subsequent simulation segment, eight teams addressed common psychological issues among vocational college students. Through role-playing and peer dialogue, they vividly portrayed eight typical cases, including "confusion about future career choices," "depression triggered by family issues," "psychological recovery after telecom fraud," "maladjustment among freshmen," "anxiety over college entrance exams," "indulgence in gaming due to college entrance exam failure," "dormitory interpersonal conflicts," and "emotional breakdown after a breakup." Their empathetic listening and scientifically guided peer counseling techniques presented warm and professional psychological support scenarios.

After comprehensive evaluation, the School of Food Science and Engineering won first prize for their accurate theoretical responses and creative counseling simulation. The School of Economics and Management and the School of Intelligent Manufacturing secured second place, while the School of Culture and Tourism, the School of Art and Design, and the School of Accounting and Finance received third prize. The School of Information Engineering and the School of Architectural Engineering were awarded honorable mentions.

With this skills competition as its starting point, this year's Mental Health Festival officially launched a series of campus mental health education activities. Over the next month, the Mental Health Education Center for College Students will collaborate with various schools to organize featured events such as the Heart Fun Park "Stories Around Us" Warm Photography Contest, the College Students' Positive Psychological Qualities Training Camp, and the Starlight Concert. These initiatives aim to deepen the practical and participatory nature of mental health education, infusing stronger psychological energy into the career aspirations and life journeys of business students.
