Recently, the first Yantai Chess tournament came to an end. During the tournament, volunteers from the school of food science and technology of our university added a touch of warmth to the tournament with their actions.
On the eve of the tournament, the students enthusiastically enrolled and used their free time to participate in professional training, carefully studying the rules of the chess tournament, etiquette and the main points of volunteering, in order to be fully prepared for the tournament and to better serve the players and the public. On the day of the tournament, the volunteers arrived early and greeted the guests with great enthusiasm. At the entrance to the venue, they smiled and directed the players and spectators, handed out information and patiently answered all kinds of questions. During the tournament, they stuck to their posts in keeping an eye on the dynamics of the pitch, providing the players with drinking water, paper towels and other items in a timely manner, and assisting the referee in maintaining order on the pitch to ensure that the match ran smoothly.
By participating in the volunteer service of the tournament, the students interpreted the value of youth and the spirit of volunteer service with their own actions, showing the good image of our students.
