On May 21st, Ms. Diana Cedar Yanes, President of the Oriental University of Santiago de Cuba, and a delegation of three visited the university for exchange and visits. The two sides had in-depth and comprehensive exchanges on educational cooperation between the two schools, and a signing ceremony was held in the office building. School leaders Mr. Sun Yunmao and Mr. Zhang Yunsheng attended the meeting.
Sun Yunmao warmly welcomed the visit of Principal Diana and her delegation. He emphasized that although China and Cuba are far apart, the two peoples have always been friendly and close, and both sides are true good friends, good brothers, and good comrades. This month, the Cuban government announced the implementation of visa free entry policies for Chinese citizens, marking a new stage in diplomatic relations between the two sides. The two schools should further inherit and carry forward the traditional friendship between the Middle Ages, and promote high-level cooperation between the two schools in the field of vocational education.
At the meeting, Principal Diana first expressed gratitude for the warm and thoughtful reception of the school and appreciated the achievements made in its development. She stated that the two universities have broad similarities in professional construction and talent cultivation models. This visit is an important measure taken by the Cuban Ministry of Education to promote educational exchange and cooperation between China and Cuba. The cooperation with our university has filled the gap in vocational education cooperation between Oriental University and Asian universities.
