The 15th University Student Reading Culture Festival with the theme of "Leading by Reading and Building the Future" was officially launched in the concert hall of our university. At the opening ceremony, over 20 representatives of cultural organizations, including Yantai Writers Association, China Folk Artists Association, China Printmaking Association, Yantai Calligraphers Association, Yantai Artists Association, Yantai Philately Association, Yantai Prose Society, Yantai Huangshan Academy, Yantai Huanghai Art Museum, Yantai Strait Academy, Luzhou Yantai Station, "Lei Feng" Magazine Yantai Station, Yantai High-tech Zone Economic Development Department, and Zhihui High-tech Lei Feng Volunteer Brigade, attended the event.
April 23rd is the 29th World Book Day, and teachers and students in our university have spontaneously organized reading activities to commemorate this important festival. At the meeting, the teachers shared a book they had recently read, expressed their thoughts and feelings about the book, and talked about the profound significance of reading for teachers in combination with their teaching work. The teachers unanimously believed that reading can increase professional wisdom, improve teacher ethics, provide teachers with a higher-level theoretical basis for teaching practice, make classroom teaching accurate and rich, impart knowledge in a novel and coherent way, and make classroom management easier. Reading can also enhance teachers' spiritual cultivation, eliminate impulsiveness, and devote themselves to the educational cause with peace of mind. Moreover, with the rapid development of the times, teachers' knowledge structure and teaching methods should be constantly updated with the changes of the times, and the important way to update is through reading, "never too old to learn".
