The School of Food Science and Technology was established in 1975. The school has a vigorous, hard-working, and highly qualified teacher team. Currently, there are 39 faculty members, there are 6 professors and 14 associate professors, 86% hold a doctor's or master's degree, and more than 94% are “dual qualification” teachers.
Our school has a distinctive background in the grain industry. The school has been awarded the national productive training base, national grain security publicity and education base and Shandong grain quality and safety inspection training base. It is known as the "Huangpu Military School" among the grain majors in Shandong Province.
There are more than 1000 students in the school of Food Science and Technology. It involves 4 majors--Grain Engineering Technology、Grain Inspection and Testing Technology、Grain Engineering Technology and Management、Grain Storage and Quality Safety and Food Quality and Safety. Our school has 1 national pilot specialty of modern apprenticeship system, two provincial characteristic specialties, two key specialties of provincial famous schools for skilled talents training. The school has more than 30 experimental training rooms. The main instruments and equipment such as GC-MS and LC-MS are world-class testing equipment produced by Germany, the United States, France, Denmark and Japan, with a total value of more than 20 million yuan.
The employment rate has reached 100% for 5 consecutive years. Graduates from the school have been well received by employers. Graduates are mainly employed in wholly foreign-owned enterprises, Sino foreign joint ventures, local grain reserve depots and well-developed private enterprises.
